Nicholas Sarkozy Research Paper
For my essay I chose Nicolas Sarkozy, who is the President of the French Republic. I would describe Nicolas Sarkozy’s leadership style as visionary, affiliative, commanding and pacesetting. Nicolas Sarkozy has a reputation as being “confident and fast-paced” and “aggressive”. I would consider Mr. Sarkozy as a visionary on the fact that he was once a lawyer and is close to his people. Mr. Sarkozy inspires people with his vision and reforms. Mr. Sarkozy is affiliative by boosting morale during the economies downturn by saving the French company Alstom. Mr. Sarkozy would be considered commanding and pacesetting on the bases that he is very focus driven and has high standards that he expects to be done when he wants them done. I chose to compare

According to Merriam-Webster, The definition of a double standard is a set of principles that applies differently and usually more rigorously to one group of people or circumstances than to another; especially: a code of morals that applies more severe standards of sexual behavior to women than to men. It’s ironic to me that the definition contains the example of sexual behavior. In Kate Chopin’s story The Storm I see her writing supporting women’s rights and also an example of double standards. Double standards are a huge debate in todays’ society, especially when it comes to sexual behavior. Men and women are biased differently when it comes to number of sexual partners and…

The five-year plan Stalin became famous for was a stamp on Russia’s history in economics. Granted Stalin did yield some output from the plan, but nothing close to what he had originally intended. With outrageous quotas set for people to meet, and mass shortages occurring, Russia was plagued by incompetent and reckless Stalinist behavior, which he became so famous for. Khrushchev would end up in the same hole, making similar mistakes by trying to outpace America by adding two years to Stalin’s plan and making grain their central icon for output. Khrushchev would implement the virgin land scheme, a gamble with the northern part of Kazakhstan’s barren land for farm development. Because the agricultural development of Russia had never stabilized…

The United States prison systems should reallocate their money to focus more on correction than on life-long punishment so that taxpayers save money and potentially transform life time prisoners into productive citizens.
