    In the passage Of Mice and Men, Steinbeck uses imagery to show the plain and basic bunkhouse and how the ranch is isolated to show the lack of identity the men have. “Long, rectangular building” and “whitewashed, floor unpainted” indicate that it is the place of inhabitance of George and Lennie and how it is not really there home but it is somewhere where they are just staying.
