Nicole’s dream finally came true. She was a nurse and she was helping people in need. She worked in the emergency room where she treated burn victims, people with broken bones, gave stiches, and even treated cancer patients. Nicole loved her job but working in a hospital wasn’t all fun and games it was hard work. Every day she woke up at six o’clock and worked a twelve-hour day. Some days were slow and other days were extremely busy. One day Nicole was sitting at her desk filling out paper work when a boy thirteen years old on a stretcher came in beaten with bruises and two broken legs. She was the nurse assigned to him. “It was the most terrible thing I have ever seen.” Nicole exclaimed. The boy was beaten with sticks by three boys in his school for being gay. Nicole could not believe that someone would do such a thing. She stayed with the boy the entire time he was in the hospital. She gave him stiches in his face and leg. The boy had to get casts put on both of his legs and was in a wheel chair for the next six months. Nicole donated five thousand dollars to a stop bullying foundation to help raise awareness of bullying in public schools. Nicole realized that working in a hospital and helping people is what she truly loved to do. She watched this boy heal and felt prideful that she was able to assist him every step of the
