We had a big Irish breakfast, which consisted of crispy sizzling sausages, beautiful fried eggs and a bright, baked tomato. After breakfast we got into the car and hit the road to Oxygen in Co. Kildare. It was an early summer morning, not a cloud to be seen. The sun was coming over the mountains, a sign of a good day. We reached Oxygen at 11a.m. There was only a few thousand there before us. We had a good choice of where to set our site in the blue oxygen camp site. We got our ticket stamp and quickly set up our tent. We were amazed to see our past school friends Liam and Paula in our campsite who we haven’t seen in ages.
We went for something to eat. I got a large warm fresh roll from the restaurant oven. It was a roll with delicious fresh cooked ham and beautiful melted cheese, with golden honey flavour sweet corn. It was like a party in my mouth.
Soon after, we went to the official oxygen ceremony 2022. There was loads of entertainment for the evening from country music for the majority of elderly adults and world known rock artists for the young adults and teenagers. It was just a taste to come.
Night came. A dirty, black night with rain. It suggested that we are in for a survival night. It was then time to hit the hay after a very stressful, action pact day. Two hours later, I woke up and I heard Niamh outside the tent banging down the tent pegs in the middle of night in torrential weather conditions. I was wondering what was going on. I went out and saw what was wrong. The rain was pouring from the heavens. I noticed that tent was holding on to a thread and Kelly was fast asleep. I quickly assisted Niamh.
