randomly kill the people who are not in shape everyday, because to the guards, they just took up space. Just about every time Wiesel was switched into a different concentration camp, he had the feeling that he would be killed. Throughout the memoir, Eliezer explains how when he started losing faith, he would pray repetitively to keep his life. Even though he went through a great struggle, it is very easy for the reader to interpret the fight he gave to make sure he made it out alive. I find it very important that Wiesel had this mindset, because without it, he might not have made it out alive. His father worked alongside him just about everyday. It was very important to Eliezer that he was able to check up on his father since that is the last of his family that survived. Wiesel made it very clear to the reader that no matter what happens, he has to help his father survive since he is only getting older and weaker by the day.
I believe that not only did this memoir educate the reader about the holocaust, but also about figuring out what your priorities are.
Eliezer Wiesel made it clear throughout the novel that he had to focus on himself surviving, and also making sure his father is taking care of himself. He also made that clear by the tone he was using. Although Night can be difficult to understand at some points, it is a book that everyone should read at some point in their life. For today’s society, it would be good for them to realize the importance of life and how good they have it compared to other times in history. This generation needs to remember that it could always be
worse.
