His invention of the Alternative Current, more commonly known today as A/C, changed the course of history for the entire world. Tesla was not recognized in his time for making his mark on the world as he did, but today he is revered as one of the pioneers in his field. This man has made such a huge impact that he has been called one of the Great Progressive People. And his title is well deserved.
Alternative Current
One of Nikola Tesla’s greatest achievements was the A/C, which allowed him to attain great status and wealth, as well as allowed him to help the general public, though they would not appreciate it for some time. “Tesla then caught the attention …show more content…

This breakthrough invention of his also improved the public life, lighting up homes without the need for dangerous kerosene lamps. Sometime after this great boom with Westinghouse, Tesla made yet another of his great achievements, the hydroelectric motor.

Hydroelectric Power Plant
Tesla’s power plant was an absolute marvel, especially for its time. “The plant, located at
Niagara Falls, distributed electrical current to the city of Niagara Falls and to Buffalo, New
York, some twenty-three miles away. The Niagara power plant, completed late in 1895, destroyed forever Edison's objections to Tesla's polyphase system of alternating current and established the kind of power system that would eventually be used throughout the United States and the world.” (B. Narins, Notable Scientists from 1900 to the Present). Proving once again that he has capability beyond anything that anyone has seen so far, Tesla’s success of the hydroelectric plant allowed him to once again refocus his efforts, this time setting his sights on radio waves. “Tesla had turned his interests to the proposition that radio waves could
