Nikolay Alexandrovich Romanov was the last Russian Tsar. This title was used by the Russian sovereigns during the period of the Russian empire. Nicholas II, know in Brazil as “Nicolau II”, was crowned king by the czarist polity in 1894. His reign ended in 1917 with the Russian revolution, and later in that year, he was executed by the Bolsheviks. After his death, Russia changed completely, joining others republics and forming a new country, the Soviet Union. At that time they embraced the communist polity.
Nicholas II was born on may 18th of 1868 in Saint Petersburg at Alexander's Palace. He was the son of Alexander III and succeeded him when he died in 1894. Nicholas was not prepared to be a king when he first assumed the role of the tsar. He was a very shy person and had no experience in government. Russia's army performed poorly. And this things led him to his abdication. He did not have leadership and the form of government that he believes no longer fit the time so his decisions led to the murder of his family and the end of over three hundred years of Romanov rule.
His father, Alexander, was a strong influence on Nicholas II, mainly with religious values (He believed in the orthodox church) and his belief in autocratic government (a form of government that is run by a single, self-appointed leader, called an autocrat, as opposed to a group of leaders or elected officials).
During the tsar reign, the lower class people worked for little payment and had bad works rights. In 1917, the working class people revolted against the government of Nicholas II led by Lenin, which started the Russian Revolution. It was also called February Revolution and is characterized by the Czarist government collapse and the establishment of a provisional
