Carmelita Who is a Mexican singer was brought to New York by Denis from Jalisco Mexico. The purpose of bringing Carmelita to New York was to sing. But was that really the reason? or did Denis liked Carmelita since the moment he saw her? Yet Carmelita had been proud of being Latina and she wanted Latinos to be the best in the sports that were occuring in New York. So she attended as many sports events as possible the day before her audition and she was cheering for Latinos to win and having fun not thinking about the consequences for the next day. Carmelita dint do so well in the audition and Denis was going to send her back to Mexico, but Carmelita wasn't going to let that happen so she went to a Mexican restaurant and was offered a job as a singer for the restaurant and she excitedly accepted the job. She performed that night at the restaurant and Denis was there with other friends and his fiancé. Denis fiancé wasn't as excited to see Carmelita performance, but one of Denis friends thought that she would be perfect for promoting his new perfume business and said he would like to contract Carmelita. Denis as a business man he agreed not only for the money he would be able to generate, but was that the only reason he accepted? I'm confident to say that he…

Nettie Holliday Thompson was interviewed in South Carolina on July 20, 1994. Nettie was born in Brunswick, Georgia January 24, 1912. Nettie states in her interview, “We didn’t have too much of a problem during segregation because we was so tied up and mixed up.” (Thompson, 1994) Jim Crow laws nearly changed the way colored people lived their life on a daily, by segregating schools, restrooms, transportation, parks, restaurants, and much more. (Rocky Mountain PBS, 1996-2010) Thompson remembers living in a mixed community, her neighbor's next door were white. For as long as she could remember everyone got along and were cordial to each other. They went to separate schools one for white and one for people of color also they had separate drugstores…
My Mentor that stands out in my mind is Staff Sergeant Barbara of MCCS (Marine Corps Community Services). Staff Sergeant Barbara has inspired me in many ways as well as motivated me to be a better and harder working Marine. He knew what it takes to make a warehouse great. I was only able to work with him for just over a Month which makes what I learned in such a short period time so important to me. I had some good mentors in my past but never had any truly great leaders that had this kind of effect on my life.…
As a leader you think of someone who possesses a number of qualities, enthusiasm, good judgment, intelligent, a people person and a great speaker.…
One of the leaders that I find most inspiring is Queen Elizabeth I. To me, Queen Elizabeth I represents the epitome of a powerful woman. She was clearly good at negotiating with and listening to others as she was able to convince her half sister, Mary, that she was not a threat. Additionally, she demonstrated an excellent ability to empathize with her subjects since while she did re-establish Protestantism, she was tolerant to all religious practices that were conducted in private. She also positively influenced her followers by visiting her troops at Tilbury and giving an incredibly motivating speech. She showed respect for her subjects by meeting with them personally and making them feel as though their opinions mattered. Additionally, by…

The qualities of a good leader can be disputed among a variety of different skills and abilities. Such as being honest, being a delegate, the ability to communicate, having confidence, having commitment to what they believe in, and the creativity to solve any problem that comes their way. If a leader lacks any of these qualities he will be unable to move the cause forward thus failing as a leader. Few can possess these qualities and become a great leader. For to be a great leader you must have these qualities and can move people in a way few can. These qualities and more can be shown in one of the world’s greatest leaders Martin Luther King Junior. He paved the way for African American rights and promoted peaceful protest rather…
