Chairman’s Message
Welcome to NOMAN Group’s 2012-2013 Sustainability Report. We hope this report demonstrates our true commitment to environmental and social sustainability at Noman
Group. It shows that even during economic slow-down, our company did not deviate from our promise; we redoubled and strengthened our efforts. Sustainability continues to make us a better company by reducing waste, lowering costs, driving innovation, increasing productivity and helping us fulfill our vision.
The credit for our progress goes to all the staffs at Noman Group and to our suppliers who have helped us to make a difference that extends well beyond what we could do alone. In today’s society, we find ourselves overwhelmed with the proliferation of environmental crises around the globe. The trade off between sustainability and economic growth is still of discourse as mankind has the ability to mass produce more than ever before. With that in mind, Sustainability, by Leslie Paul Thiele defines and discusses the topic of sustainability. While Thiele’s text is engaging due to the areas of discussion, I argue that it is not an adequate guide as he fails to provide a thorough explanation of how solutions should be implemented.…

As social responsibility and environmentally friendly attitudes have become more prevalent, many companies have moved towards adapting technologies that are more efficient and less damaging to the environment. The Dr. Pepper Snapple Group takes this corporate social responsibility extremely seriously. They believe that environmental stewardship is core to operating a company that will be successful in the long term. As such they have challenged themselves to move towards more environmentally friendly practices that benefit both themselves and the environment. To help them accomplish this, they began publishing a sustainability report annually. The annual sustainability report is broken down into five sections; environmental sustainability,…

As a Canadian, I am familiar with some of the different ways Tim Horton’s has tried to be involved in corporate social responsibility initiatives. Most Canadian children and adults are familiar with Tim Horton’s Camp day for the Tim Horton’s Children’s Foundation, as well as corporate giving, scholarships, community programs and their actions towards ethical and beneficial coffee producer partnerships. Tim Horton’s publishes a sustainability and responsibility report every year which provides consumers the overview and numbers for their previous year’s efforts and accomplishments. As visually and numerically shown in the Tim Horton’s Sustainability and Responsibility Report (2013), Tim Horton’s divides their initiatives into three categories of their “Making a True Difference”framework: goals of individual owners/stores, goals in the community, and goals for the planet. Their…

In the third chapter of Rethinking sustainability: A strategic financial model for Christian schools, Dr. Pue clearly conveys the importance of maintaining Biblical principles in the Christian school ministry. This kind of approach it is fundamental for the glorification ofour God through a fruitful educational ministry; Dr. Pue states: “You cannot violate God’s principles in pursuit of God’s purposes and expect God to bless you” (Kindle Loc.567). This simple matter of fact which is so obviously true, it is disregarded so often and neglected so foolishly that the results cannot be other than sad and frightening.…

We recognize that the events of 2010 have impacted many people, from local communities and businesses in the Gulf Coast region to our customers, colleagues, partners and shareholders around the world. We feel a deep sense of responsibility to everyone affected by what we do and how we do it – not just in the Gulf of Mexico, but wherever we operate. And not just this year, but every year. In this Sustainability Review, we look at what that sense of responsibility means in practice. We discuss how the accident and oil spill are shaping how we do business, and the changes we are making to our portfolio and organization. Our website plays an integral part in our sustainability reporting, covering a wider set of issues and reporting on them in more depth. The website includes detailed information about our environmental and safety performance, as well as case studies that demonstrate our sustainability efforts in action.…
