Non Nursing Theory Paper

Theories are belief or policy followed as the basis of action and nursing theory is an organized framework of concepts and purposes designed to guide the practice of nursing (Nursing Theory Definition, 2016). There are many non-nursing and nursing theories that are used in the practice of nursing. Non-nursing theories used in nursing are concepts borrowed from different disciplines and applied in nursing. One of the many nursing theory used in practicing is Virginia Henderson Need theory. Her theory focuses on increasing the patient’s independence to promote their healing process after hospitalization. She developed 14 fundamental needs/components on which provision of care is based upon. Immanuel Kant deontology theory is one of the non-nursing theory used on daily basis in nursing. Per the theory, each rational being is ethically bound or obligated to act first and foremost from a sense of duty (Butts & Rich , 2015).
