It was a normal day, doing all the same things as always. I get up for school that morning. I was planing on going hunting that evening after school. I'm in the 4th grade, I attended Bee Log Elementary and my mom is an teacher assistant. So we get ready and go to school, we get there and it is a normal Fall morning. We stay in the one class for a lot of the day, then we go to PE and then we go to social studies. My mom works at school, so me and a couple of my friends stay after school till mom is ready to leave. When mom is done we head home. When we pull in the driveway I run inside and tell dad to get ready…We are going hunting!

Thats where we got our meat made into tenderloin, cube steak, and tips. We left some of the meat at home to make jerky out of. A little while after that we took my deer head to one of my dads friends that is a taxidermist. He said he would mount it for me. So we left it for him to do. When the meat was done we went and got it and eat on it for along time. It was so good, and the jerky was to. The meat didn't last long at my house but it sure was good. After all the years of hunting I had never killed a buck, but in one evening I changed that. Most kids that was my age would have shot a spike or something small, but not me I wanted something bigger. When I look at it now I ask myself why did I shoot that it is little, but at that moment I thought it was big and it made me happy then and I am still happy because it meant alot to me. So it was worth all the waiting. I never gave up, and I still haven't. Because now I want to kill something bigger, and I know it will come one day, I just need to be patient and pray that I can get one one

It was a crisp spring day the birds were chirping and the bugs were buzzing and my brother and I, at the age of 10, were playing around in the backyard of our house. All we were doing was just playing around in the backyard having a fun time being normal children as always. Then I came up with this perfect idea to play hockey because since we all love hockey. So we wouldn't work garage I got a plastic baseball bat and my brother got a wooden baseball bat plus a whiffle ball.…

At the time I was pretty young, just finished the third grade at St. Henry School and I was feeling comfortable. But sometimes I will soon find out, is not always a good thing. At this time I was living in very green and warm Nashville, Tennessee. It was the beginning of August and it was almost time to head back to school. But at that point school sat in the very back of my mind as I was totally focused on trying to have the best time before summer ended. School hadn’t really been said between my mom which was kinda weird because normally we were on the…

Should Portsmouth students go to school for four of five days a week? Portsmouth is a small school district in central Rhode Island. This town's council is not giving the schools enough money, so that is why there are so many budget cuts. Many of the decisions of the school system are pressured upon the school committee. This school's committee, like every school committee, has been elected to office by the parents and the town's people. Portsmouth should have a four day school week because the four day week saves money, provides extra opportunities for both parents and students, and gives students more time to get better grades.…

College is about making memories, both good and bad. The University of South Alabama is a dry campus, which means that there are no alcoholic beverages allowed in your dorm room or at any event on campus. Even though the legal age for consuming alcohol is twenty-one students still participate in underage drinking. The legal age to smoke tobacco products in the state of Alabama is nineteen and at least fifty percent of the students at the University of South Alabama smoke tobacco products under age. So why should we continue to be a dry campus?…

College and drinking have gone hand in hand for years. Whether it’s Spring weekend, celebrating the big game, or a Thursday night party, alcohol seems to bere the center of many social events. Because of this, my purpose is to promote moderate drinking on campus versus a dry campus, which is one where there is no alcohol drinking permitted on campus even for those students over the age of 21. Since all of us or someone we know, will be attending college, this is important information to know while making the decision about which college to go to.…

All I remember was how it looked like a ghost town. There were hardly any cars on the road and nothing looked open.. This was not what I was used to. We checked into our room at the Holiday Inn, our new house for a little over a month while finding a house to buy, and I shortly fell asleep, being exhausted from our 12 hour journey. Me, my mom, stepdad, sister, and my cat were all crammed into a little, one room, hotel with two beds and one bathroom, I was miserable. For about a week and a half, a played hookie and helped my mom house hunt. Eventually, she decided I had been out of school long enough. That next morning, my mom pulled me into Guntersville Middle School. I was worried because I was ridiculously shy and figured I would have an extremely hard time making friends, but oh was I wrong. Before homeroom was over everyone in the sixth grade class knew there was a ‘new girl from Texas’. That’s when I met Charlie Conner and Anna…
