The reason fashion played an important role in colonial life is because it depicts status, connects the colonists to Europe, and helps them express themselves. Clothing also helps explain a great deal about the colonists in America. Colonial America’s fashion was influenced by Europe, but ultimately became American through creating clothing styles specifically for colonists’ daily needs (Loren, 4).…

The Race Between Cross Country and Track Cross country and track are my two favorite sports. I love running through the woods in cross country and the competitive atmosphere of track. However, I like to run cross country more than I like to run track mainly because cross country has a more interesting running environment. But cross country and track are more similar than most people think. Track and cross country are both extremely similar and yet extremely distinct from one another. Different, but yet similar, in the sense of preparation, practices, meets, and racing. How much preparation an athlete puts in before a meet will affect how well they will perform. For example, in cross country, it is highly recommended that cross country members run over the summer, so they will be in shape by…

In modern America most people live carefree. People in America are free, for the most part, to do whatever they want and have no fear of repercussions of their actions. Of course our modern American society is not perfect there are still people without shelter, discrimination lurking in the shadows and uncalled for violence happens almost everyday in each state. As a whole America represents courage, unity, and strength, however this was not always the case. In the beginning America, while similar in some ways to the present, was a very different place. Many of the foods we eat and enjoy almost every day were not readily available, not all races were not treated as equally as they are now and even they animals and livestock we are used to were not in America in the past.…
