are one of the most isolated if not the most isolated group of humans on the planet.” (Ben 1:15) This quote explains how the Sentinelese people are very isolated so we don’t know anything really other than the name we gave them. On a different note, lots of scientists believe they know where these people originated from, Africa more than 50,000 years ago! In conclusion, we can barely identify anything about the Sentinelese people’s origin, or even their language. The mysterious North Sentinel Island is left in awe about the ways of the people who live there. We really don’t know that much about the Sentinelese people, but what we do know is that they live on an island about 23 square miles, and that these people could be very nomadic. Plus these people are very dependent on themselves. Here is a quote from an author who is explaining the help the Indian government gave them during a natural disaster. “The Sentinelese even survived the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, the deadliest in recorded history, with few or no casualties.” (Cellania 23) This explains just how dependant they are on their island and themselves. In conclusion these people are fully dependant on their island and themselves. So much that every time another person shows up, it usually results in deaths. The mysterious North Sentinel is left in awe as to how they react to the contact with others.
Every single time any outsider has tried to visit North Sentinel Island, it has either resulted in no contact, or lots of deaths toward the outsiders. Some people believe that this is why the Sentinelese people have survived this long, because they are very strict about who comes to their island. These people are so dangerous that the Indian government has set up a strict 3 mile radius to the island. Here is a quote that explains the deadliness of these people “When they do interact with outsiders, it usually involves violence – the indigenous Sentinelese tribe killed two men who were fishing illegally in 2006 and have been known to fire arrows and fling rocks at low-flying planes or helicopters on reconnaissance missions.(Kitching 3)” This quote explains how the 3 mile radius should be followed or else there could be lethal consequences. In conclusion, the Sentinelese people are both deadly and very instinctive about their ways. To wrap things up, the Sentinelese people are isolated, hostile, and are fully dependent on themselves. Still, The mysterious North Sentinel Island is left in awe about, who lives there, their ways, and their contact with
others.
