Either its playing outside with my family or just being alone taking in all of the scenery it has always been important to me. I choose these poems specifically because they really reflect nature and all its beauty. I chose the poem Nothing Gold can Stay because it shows brilliant imagery and is a beautiful poem. The second poem The World is Too much With Us because it points out many aspects of nature. In the end of the novel “The Outsiders” by S.E Hinton, Johnny Cade’s last words to Ponyboy were “Stay gold, Ponyboy. Stay gold…” (pg 148). One way to interpret Johnny’s words would be that he meant for Ponyboy to keep his innocence. Another way would be to say that Johnny meant for Ponyboy to stay true to who he was. It is also possible that he meant for Ponyboy to continue to be a generally good person, pure of heart and mind. Johnny’s last words to Ponyboy had a triple meaning: he wanted Ponyboy to keep his purity, to not change who he was, and for him to not turn hard like other members of the gang.…

As Johnny had said to Ponyboy “stay gold” which refers to when Ponyboy recites the poem “ Nothing gold can stay” to Johnny in the church. The qualities that I feel allow me to stay gold were passed down to me at a young age. The strength and values being passed down from generation to generation feel as though they have grown stronger with time. My golden qualities are that I’m honorable, I’m ethical, and a nurturer.…

Natures first gold Poet Robert Frost, in his poetic and meaningful poem, “Nothing gold can stay”, Teaches that everything has an end, just like nature. He supports his message by using nature as an example about growing up and life. For example, in line 3 it states, “ Her early leafs a flower”, this represents a brand new start. However, in lines 4 and 5 it states “but only so an hour, Then leaf subsides to leaf “, this represents the passing of time and how close the end is.…

People say “Nature is the best medicine.” I know exactly what they mean. Sometimes, I’m feeling down because something didn’t go right, or has popped up in my life. After a enjoying a beautiful morning, outside with the nature I’m back in my right state of mind. If you felt the emotion in this scene, the works of two authors, John Muir and William Wordsworth, would certainly catch your eye. “Calypso Borealis” by Muir and the poem “I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud” by Wordsworth are two beautiful pieces of literature written very differently, but with key similarities, one of them being nature. The powerful emotions within the unique tone and personalities of the two authors not only expressed their relationships with nature, it allowed the reader to connect with the feelings of the author both visually and mentally.…

The poem I have chosen is one filled with imagery and has figurative language. This poem talks about Giraffe's or to this passage, “Stilted creatures.” They stand tall, and feed from the tops of the trees while swaying “Like hammer-headed flowers.” Silent with “ears like leaves,” to listen to the brushing of the clouds that are closer to them. I selected this poem because I loved the imagery of this poem.…

The poems I selected were all about how I feel. I can relate to every single one of the poems I chose. The poem Springing shows that just because its rainy or hot, you always have something to do. The poem Spring Snow shows that at one point you might want the winter to come back, or just a change. The poem Birds Again shows that some people think differently about Spring, some people think it's black and groggy, but I disagree.…

Both poems display very rich description from the start and continue this full description throughout the poem giving you a very clear image of the sights, sounds and smells described. The very first lines of each poem show this rich flavour and very much give you the idea that the poems are about nature. The poems are about forces of nature and they both build the effect of these forces using description. Death of a Naturalist uses the description to give the feeling that the author is control of nature that is why when it comes to the last verse it is so shocking to the author because he realises he is not in control anymore and cannot control the forces of nature. The Barn uses the description to give you the feeling you get when you are in the barn. It gives you the feeling that everything is still, dead and cold this gives it an eerie feeling and this feeling is expressed in the last verse not as still, dead or cold but very much alive.…

I chose to do my essay over Emily Dickinson who is known as the American Poet. Emily’s poems were often recognized by many different poets and also by several readers due to the fact that she was easy to relate to. Also Dickinson wrote poems that created a significant sign of imagery that created a unique lyrically style of writing. Although half of her work was written during the Civil war, there was no influence in her poetry. Emily’s work makes or shows nothing so much as that she had the themes, the insight, the observation, and the capacity for honesty, which If she only known how or only known why these particular areas would have made the major instead of the minor fraction of her genuine poetry. In this essay I am going to be talking about a few of Dickinson poems which are: “There is another sky”, “Because I could not stop for death”, and “Nobody knows this little Rose”. The major themes of these three poems are going to be talking about optimistic, immortality, and honesty of her work.…
