Nothing Gold Can Stay seems to be more about nature. While Abandoned Farmhouse is more about family. The poem Abandoned Farmhouse has personification, which Nothing Gold Can Stay doesn't use. In the second paragraph of Abandoned Farmhouse, Ted Kooser wrote, "It was lonely here, says the narrow country road". He also wrote," Money was scarce, say the jars of plum preserves and canned tomatoes sealed in the cellar hole."…

In the lyric poem, “Nothing Gold Can Stay” by Robert Frost, it describes the gorgeousness of nature in the morning sun by saying it was comparable to gold or a flower, and explains how it is saddening that it would go away when it nears day. And, with the use of a lyric poem which is a poem that expresses the thoughts or emotion of the speaker and it involves the use of a rhyme scheme he was able to explain his thought and emotions more clearly to the reader. Although the poem explains how nature is incomparably beautiful in the morning and sadly disappears closer to the day, he is able to illustrate the underlying meaning through the use of metaphors, personification, and…
My first obstacle was introducing my evidence from the primary text. I found myself stuck on this due to how in the poem it was said. I eventually figured it out and once I introduced it, I had to explain it and provide enough explanation as how it proved my thesis. As I put it all together, more and more ideas came to mind. For a while I found myself writing and putting all thoughts into the essay. I provided my evidence, then explained it. When I sent a draft to Professor Vinson he replied saying how I needed to explain how it was going to prove my thesis rather than summarizing my evidence. I than put much thinking into it and just began to correct it. I found myself stressing a lot because I did not want to make any mistakes. I was very careful to cite everything and make sure everything was out together the write…
What is the aim of the poem? Does it, for example, describe an experience, describe a place, or protest about something? Try asking yourself why the poet wrote the poem.…

Nothing gold can never stay describes the meaning of letting go. When i first read the poem it was hard to interpret what it is trying to say. When you're saying this out loud it's really hard because i really didn’t understand it. Nothing gold never stays means that nothing good ever stays everything has to leave sometime. We have to let go of the things we love and more importantly we have to realize what it really means to let things go.…
Poetry is considered to be a representational text in which one explores ideas by using symbols. Poetry can be interpreted many different ways and is even harder to interpret when the original author has come and gone. Poetry is an incredible form of literature because the way it has the ability to use the reader as part of its own power. In other words, poetry uses the feelings and past experiences of the reader to interpret things differently from one to another, sometimes not even by choice of the author. Two famous poets come to mind to anybody who has ever been in an English class, Robert Frost and E.E. Cummings. Both of these poets have had numerous famous pieces due to the fact that they both captivate the readers attention and can even keep them intrigued in a piece long after their first time reading it. A line such as one of the most memorable lines from Robert Frost, “Two roads diverged in a yellow wood” (1). Many recognize this line and many may have their own opinions on how to look at his poem ‘The Road Not Taken’. Another poem with a shared theme is E.E. Cummings poem “Anyone lived in a pretty how town” these two poems are very different in delivery and literary devises, but both have a common theme, a theme of how time goes on and the choices one makes, shapes who they become. This reoccurring theme is important because live doesn’t stop going it is a clock that will never stop ticking and every time the clock ticks we make a choice that shapes who we are and who we will be in the future.…
Erin Mills Mr. Currin English 102-9 9 April 2015 “The Road Not Taken” by Robert Frost While a short piece, Robert Frost’s poem “The Road Not Taken” is a beautiful literary masterpiece, though it is often misinterpreted. Many readers believe that the focus of the poem is “taking the road less traveled” – refusing to conform, asserting bravery, and directing your own future. However, line 11 says, “And both [roads] that morning equally lay/in leaves no step had trodden black.” Neither of the roads had been traveled, which reshapes the meaning of the entire poem.…
Ironically, the entire poem is a huge metaphor for a different meaning. This is done by the usage of diction, tone, rhythm, meter, and, most important for a metaphor, imagery; all of which are in a way connected. Imagery is…
I have chosen "The Road Not Taken" by Robert Frost as the topic of this Poetry Analysis Paper. "The Road Not Taken" is a narrative poem consisting of four stanzas of iambic tetrameter and is one of Frost's most popular poems. In "The Road Not Taken", it tells a fabrication of a person who reaches a side road in the forest and must choose which rail to take, each caterpillar track being different from the other. Robert Frost illustrates a difficulties decision point when facing the other path, and it means that will be two different stories by making two choices.…
Bodie Thoene once said, “What is right is often forgotten by what is convenient.” This quote means that most people forget the right way and just way to do things because of the easier and more convenient way. I agree with this quote because I have done it before many times, and have witnessed it many times. As an example, I once did something that was not kind, and when given the opportunity to be honest, I instead lied and covered up my wrong doing. I could have admitted my fault, but it was a more difficult option than to lie and ignore it afterwards. I have seen other people do this as well. Once I was with my friend and we were tossing a football around as we walked, and he tripped and bumped into a parked car. He left a small dent, and against my attempts to persuade him, he left the scene and didn’t say sorry to the owner. “The Road Not Taken” by Robert Frost supports the idea of this quote; however, “Untraveled Road” by Thousand Foot Krutch does not.…
