Kennedy was a great man that a lot of people looked up to and this paragraph is how he lived by the quote “Nothing is so painful to the human mind as a great and sudden change.” When he was shot everyone was in awe of what happened. “The motorcade raced to Parkland Memorial Hospital, a secret service agent sprawled across the rear of the car as Jacqueline cradled her husband’s bloody head(Cawley5).” This had impacted his family and the United States which is painful to the mind to lose a loved one. Since it was his first year everything was a bit much for him. “In 1961, his first year in office, Kennedy was battered by a series of adverse international developments(WND2).” His mind was impacted very deeply because there were international developments so this was a sudden change to him. Kennedy was not successful trying to by vice-president. “After an unsuccessful attempt to win the vice-presidential nomination on the ticket of Adlai E. Stevenson in 1956 Kennedy began to plan for the presidential election of 1960(WND2).” The loss was a bad sudden change so he decided to get ready and plan for the presidential election which is a great change in power. Was very upset that she lost someone she looked up to. “The lose of a mother because the love, strength, and advice that she gave to pass down to others(Dorsey).” The lose of a mother and great figure to look up to is painful to the mind but what had been passed down like the love, strength, and advice is helpful to use. Very depressed that she lost her child and didn't know what to do. “The lose of a child to know that you can be more protective and loving of your children(Dorsey).” Losing a child is painful so it gives you a perspective on how you can care for your future children. Was shocked that so much of her family was addicted to something. “The struggle of drug and alcohol addiction on both sides of the family and the affects it has on the people around you(Dorsey).” Knowing that the family has addictions makes it hard to stay away and keep your children away from it so they stay safe.
