Introduction
Nottingham Road is a small village found in the midlands which has grown rapidly due to the fact that there has been an increase in the number of people who admire the beautiful scenery which is found in the surrounding area. It is a huge tourist destination as there are lots of places to see such as Michaelhouse and the Drakensberg. The midlands meander has become something that lots of people look forward to seeing as there are lots of wonderful restaurants and craft shops that are unique to this area. What also makes it so beautiful is that there are no big developments in the area which means that the beauty is magnified as you are able to breathe in crisp, clean air which is hard to find as the world we live in is so demanding

Nottingham Road has also grown as a result of counter-urbanization. Counter-urbanization is defined as the movement of people away from the busy city centres and out into the more peaceful countryside to try and settle their lives down. People would move to the countryside to increase the quality of their lives. There is cheap land in the more rural areas as well as cleaner air and a better quality of life. It is also easier to live out of the cities these days with the increase in the availability of transport and communication which is obviously a big part of life.
I will be conducting a survey in and around the Nottingham Road area in which I will be asking the people in the area if they think that Michaelhouse has increased the economy of the area and here they think people are moving into the area as a result of counter-urbanization and whether counter-urbanization has also contributed to the economy of Nottingham

They also say that you need places to take children so that they can make some noise and behave as children would. This chapter also talks about how overpopulated cities are becoming and this is another major problem because people are being forced to build squatter camps just so they can have a shelter to sleep under. This is where people start moving out of cities to go and live in a cleaner more accommodating place where they can have space and also more freedom. People that are older like the more relaxed lifestyle that you get in rural areas as there is far less congestion and noise in rural
