Nursing Career Research Paper

Nursing is a career that has evolved tremendously in the past century. Students enter programs based on personal and professional expectations for their careers. Nursing is not only a career but a distinct way of improving people’s life by managing their health problems and enhancing healthy state. There are many colleges and universities that offer a degree in nursing, an abundant amount of jobs a college graduate with a degree in nursing can hope to acquire and useful information about them as well.

There are three colleges and universities I am interested in earning a degree in nursing one of which is Broward College. Broward college is located in 3501 Davie Rd FL 33314.The courses they offer in nursing are pharmacology, Nursing
The University Of Florida is located in Gainesville Florida 32511.The course they offer in the degree of nursing are Health Assessment and communication, Advanced Child Health nursing III and Management Of Care Environment. The graduation requirements for the University Of Florida are that students must earn a grade of a C or better in each course, they must not repeat any course more than once, and must maintain a GPA of a 2.0 or higher. The Tuition, Fees and Housing for students living with their parents amount to $16,130.

Nova South Eastern University is the final outcome of colleges that I could earn my degree on nursing. The location is 3301 College Ave Fort Lauderdale FL 33314.Some courses they offer in my major are Health Assessment, Informatics and data analysis, and Advanced Nurse role. Applicants must maintain a cumulative GPA of a 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale and completed a minimum of 39 semester hours. One of three jobs a college graduate in nursing can hope to acquire is a job as a Licensed practical nurse. An LPN job is to provide basic nursing care. You could become an LPN by completing a state approved educational program which takes about a year to complete. LPN is projected to grow 25 percent from 2012 to 2022 much faster than average.They earn a median pay $41,540 per year.

A Registered Nurse is an additional job a college graduate with a degree in my field can hope to attain. A RN’S job is to provide and coordinate patient care. To be a RN usually takes one of three education paths: a bachelor degree in nursing, an associate degree in nursing, and a diploma from an approved nursing program. RN’s must also be licensed. Employment of RN is expected to grow 19 percent faster than average. They earn around $65,470 per year.

Lastly a job that a college student with a degree in my field can obtain is a job as a nurse anesthetist. A nurse anesthetist also referred to as (APRNs), job is to provide primary and specialty health care. To be a nurse anesthetist the applicant must earn a masters degree in one of the APRN roles and must also be licensed in their state.
