Nursing Careers: A Career As A Registered Nurse
Nursing careers “When you’re a nurse you know that every day you will touch a life or a life will touch yours” (unknown). I love helping people, and making sure there okay. Growing up I loved to play doctor and when my brother or sister got hurt I would “doctor” them up. I wanted to become an Rn so I could work at a hospital and help them where ever they needed help. For some reason I do not mind the “gross” injuries and I don’t mind blood either. This paper will explore the job description, requirements, and salary expectation for a registered nurse. First, the job description for a registered nurse includes many components. The Occupational handbook states that a nurse’s job is to record patients’ medical histories and symptoms, observe patients and record the observations, and also help perform diagnostic test and analyze the results (oco). According to the OCO it states that the highest pay is 32.91 per hour and the lowest pay is 22.01 for being a registered nurse. The factors to help determine your pay is where you live and your education. You do not need no experience to be a nurse but it does require at least a bachelor’s degree. The only hazardous condition is being by sick people that are contagious. I think this is the job for me. I feel like I might be good at doing this job. I now know that this is the career I want to take. To finish up, salary is important to consider. In conclusion, this paper explored the job description, requirements and salary expectation for a registered nurse. One reason why this career is a good fit for me is that I love to help people feel better and take care of them. Another good reason is I grew up dreaming to become a doctor but I changed my mind to become a nurse.
