In order to maintain doctor of nursing practice (DNP) programs, these programs need to stay focused on their originally concepted focus and maintain this focus over time. DNP programs should never be allowed to be an entry-level degree for nurses. DNP programs need to be maintained at a level where the time, credits, and costs invested in the programs are congruent with the credentials earned. There are currently many certificate MSN-NP programs that require just as much time and credits as BSN-DNP programs. With this being true the benefit of the certificate MSN NP certificate programs are at risk for their demise.

It is important that APN as well be versed in the skills of theory and practice education and be knowledgeable in how to best teach adults.

I do see some form of nurse education in my future. I current help write items for registered nurses for StatPearls an online learning company. I enjoy doing this and hope to continue at more advanced levels of nursing in the future. I would also after I gain experience as a nurse practitioner like to be a preceptor. There is a big shortage of preceptors for nurse practitioners and I hope I could someday help to reduce
