working with her. She grew up under privileged, inspiring her to do the best she possibly can on a daily basis. Her previous experiences have molded her into the individual she is today.
Stephanie was born in Maplewood, in 1972. During her teens she attended North Saint Paul High School. Due to family issues, she was unable to graduate on time with the rest of her class. However with some of her determination and hard work she earned her GED. When asked about this Stephanie stated “Although I didn’t graduate I’m doing pretty well for someone my age”. After acquiring her GED she received her CNA license and began working towards her career in nursing. For her Post Secondary education she attended Century College and obtained her associates degree in nursing. Once she had completed her schooling she pursued opportunities in nursing. After several years of working in the field she applied at Rose of Sharon as director of nursing, which is where she currently works.
A director of nursing is difficult, and upper management role.
Stephanie's daily responsibilities include; reviewing how assisted living care can best be financed, managing how employees should be organized, measuring the quality of care, and how to effectively provide optimal levels of care within the constraints of limited resources. Stephanie managers the nursing department. This includes a wide variety of staff includes registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and certified nursing aides or assistants. Some challenges that come with this position are making sure everyone, from the nurses, to the people receiving the care, are satisfied with the experience the receive at the Rose of Sharon. Despite the challenges she faces, Stephanie still
prevails.
Working in an expanding career field based off providing care for others is a difficult task. Stephanie is an example of a hardworking individual, who has made the best out of every disadvantage,challenge or hardship that has made its way into her life. Although her career may be under appreciated, her passion never wavers.
