Course Description
This course focuses on the professional role and discipline of nursing. Students will examine the image of nursing and develop strategies for improvement. Standards of professional practice will be discussed in relation to the profession, role, and value behavior.

Historical Figures of Nursing Presentation Resources: Historical Figures of Nursing Timeline multimedia presentation; Grading Criteria: Historical Figures of Nursing Presentation
Review the Historical Figures of Nursing Timeline multimedia presentation available on the student website.
Select two historical figures that were presented in the historical timeline.
Submit your selections to the instructor for approval. Your choices for the historical figures must be posted to your individual forum for approval by 12/3/12 at 11:59 MST. I will post an approval note in your individual forum indicating that your choices have been approved. Choices for historical figures posted after the above date will not be accepted.
Research additional information on your selected historical figures.
Prepare a 6- to 8-slide Microsoft® PowerPoint® presentation in which you present detailed information about the historical figures and how they contributed to the advancement of nursing. Be able to provide examples of how their accomplishment/contributions to the advancement of nursing.
The body of the Power Point Presentation should include 6-8 slides. The title and reference slide are separate and not included within the body of the Power Point Presentation.
• No more than 3 -4 bullet points per slide
• No black or white backgrounds
• Include speaker notes with each slide
• Citations should be included within the speaker notes and formatted according to APA guidelines
