For the people who enjoy fantasy, action, and suspense and a bit of mystery, here is your favorite book, Beowulf. This book even has a strange possible connection to the days when Christianity and Paganism where at odds, and between light and dark. Robert Nye, I believe has a way of sucking people into this book, Beowulf. Even though I am not a huge fan of bloody gory books, he definitely got me interested in it. If you could split his book in two categories, it would be light and dark. Hall Heorot, “...like a second sun, so bright…” Robert Nye describes the beautiful hall King Hrothgar built that angered the monster Grendel. …show more content…
And lastly, Beowulf. Beowulf is no kind of hero he becomes to be. He is humble, and honest. “Beowulf is the rare kind of person who makes strength of his own weaknesses.”Queen Wealtheow comments towards the beginning of the book. I had noticed that Beowulf’s uncle had a strong, tall shape and eyesight, and everyone looked up to him, while Beowulf was short, and had horrible eyesight. That relates to Max, because the main character in the movie’s dad fought for our country and is famous for what he did and his brother is in the army and works the army dog. The boy plays video games and would never think of being a hero, only in video games. He gets annoyed when his parents are always Skipping him. The boy’s brother dies in combat, and he his dog was going to be killed and the god sensed his connection to his master so he obeys him, but only him. So they keep the dog. Later, he became a hero, but this time, not in the video games. The book Beowulf is so suspenseful, full of action and mystery. I think this book is a good book for schools because it is about the difference between light and dark, which kind of tells the reader which side would you be on, dark, like Unferth and get killed in death itself, or light, always good, kind and generous, like Wealtheow, being able to protect her husband with so much love in her, or even both, like Beowulf, to admit yourself to be good and admit to your wrongs, and be even more good. Which would you
