On-the-job training (OJT), for others, is beneficial and for some, not. Apparently, it has advantages and disadvantages which university staff and administration created as a basis whether or not the OJT program must be included in the students' required curriculum. Therefore, before applying for a job, it is a must that not only the skills should be developed but the attitude as well. Through OJT, students experience how it feels to be working with other people in the workplace professionally and by being acquainted with these situations they learn what proper demeanor they should show especially to their seniors and managers.
Internship experience has also contributed to the enhancement of interpersonal and communication skills (Warinda, 2013) and these are two of the five key attitudes an accountant must have. Firms are much more inclined to hire their previous interns, in fact Cummings and Tataman (2007) stated on their research that seventy-one (71) percent of their interns have received full-time job offer after graduation. It is also purported in the study of Rigsby (2013) that the internship experience is useful in getting more job offers whether the job offer is received from the internship firm or not.
