Oath To France

France is at a critical point in its history something needs to change if we are to stay united as one France. As of now the national assembly wants to take away the church’s land and change the tradition of the Catholic Church in France. The Civil Constitution of the Clergy wants Church officials to be elected instead of appointed. Elections are not subject to papal confirmation which means that the new bishop may not apply to the pope for any form of confirmation. The new constitution states that the clergy must swear an oath to France first and God and the pope second. They want us to become loyal servants of the state instead of servants of God and the church. This is the direction that France is going in if the Civil Constitution of the
Clergy is passed.
The church has always had one mission. That mission has been to serve God the almighty father and do what he wishes upon us to make the world a better place. In the beginning when the Catholic Church was created god appointed one man to be the pope that man’s name was Peter. It was Gods will for the members of the church to be appointed not elected like some sort of government business. Title 2 of the constitution states that from now on all church officials will be elected by selected electors. The game packet does not state who these electors are though. These could be people who are not even of the Catholic faith. Why should we allow for those who are not loyal to God the almighty father? Why should they be the ones to deem who is worthy or unworthy of being a servant of God?
The Civil Constitution has already taken away the right for the clergy to be appointed the way it has been for centuries upon centuries the way that God as willed it.
Now they want to make us turn our back on the church. The national assembly wants us to take an oath swearing our allegiance to France before God. They want us to do what is in the best interest of France not what is right and just. The Clergy and the Catholic Church follow Gods teachings and his laws that he has set in place. Swearing this oath to France turns the church into a business of the state instead of a holy place of worship. France is falling apart the people have stormed the bastille they are killing each other for food. Soon they will take the government and set in place radical laws to benefit only themselves not France as a whole. When this happens we will be forced to follow what they put in place because we swore this oath to
France.
In article one title three of the civil constitution it states that “The ministers of religion, performing as they do the first and most important functions of society and forced to live continuously in the place where they discharge the offices to which they have been called by the confidence of the people, shall be supported by the nation” This means that the members of the clergy are now state employees.
What the people don’t understand is that being a priest, bishop, or even pope it is not a job, but a calling by God to serve. Becoming a state employee is taking away rights from the clergy. In Title four of the civil constitution the law does not allow any bishop to be absent himself from the diocese more than two weeks consecutively. That is starting to sound a little tyrannical. Why is the government watching the church so closely monitoring them like a
hawk?
This is not a free and just France at all. The government is watching the clergies every step. They have taken away all church lands and auctioned them off. Probably worst of all they are making the clergy sign an oath saying they are loyal to a state before God. If they don’t they are taking away their freedom of religion the freedom to practice and spreads Gods word to the people of France. This country is going down fast and no one can stop it.

What has happened to this country? I remember when the church was about tradition, but now it seems like people don’t even care about that anymore. This country has run into chaos and anarchy where the crowd and Jacobins are going around starting riots defying their own country. France used to be a great place to live full of arts and entertainment. We used to be seen as a great country. Now we are seen as a country on fire! The government can’t feed its people and they are taking everything away from the people who have worked hard for what they have like the nobles and clergy men. This is not the kind of France that I want to live in anymore.
