Obama Contributions To America

Barack Obama was an influential person because of his contributions to not only America, but the world; despite the harsh racism and criticism. One of the first accomplishments of Barack Obama was becoming a Presidential candidate for the Democratic Party and eventually becoming America’s first black president. This proves that Barack Obama succeeded with becoming the first black U.S. president, even though he struggled against bigotry and the doubt of other people. This is still affecting the world by proving that the color of one’s skin does not determine their ability to succeed and defy the odds. Barack Obama even ended the Iraq war and reversed former president Bush’s torture policies.
Obama ordered all U.S. military forces out of Iraq; the last American troops left December 8, 2011. On top of that, Obama also eliminated terrorist group al qaeda and killed their leader, Osama Bin Laden. Al Qaeda was behind the attack on the twin towers; the attack is known as 9/11. He nullified Bush-era rulings that had
Obama provided free healthcare for people who can’t afford it. He also expanded health coverage for children and stem cell research. These are just three of the many great things that Obama has done for America. One of the contributions that Obama made to another country besides America was helping South Sudan declare independence. Obama is still influencing the world by being a wonderful president to the U.S.; without his contributions, the world would be without a president willing to work out problems instead of just going to war over every insignificant issue. It is important to remember that he was the first to black man to become president of the United States of America, even when he was confronted with obstacles such as people slandering him just because of the color of his skin.
