Many students who take part in extracurricular activities have higher attendance. According to, classroom.synonym.com studies have shown that students that take part in an extracurricular activity have a 15% higher attendance rate than students who don’t participate in an extracurricular. They most likely use the extracurricular activity as motivation to play the sport because if a child misses school one day, they will most likely have to miss practice or a game that same day. In addition to that, many students get better grades when they are in an extracurricular activity. Since many schools do not allow students with bad grades to play it encourages the student to do better in school. Not only that, but colleges look or students with good grades that had other activities that they managed to.
In conclusion, extracurricular activities have many positive effects on academics also. In multiple ways, extracurricular activities benefit a child.
