Obesity in America has been an epidemic for years. Nearly 78 million adults and 13 million children in the United States deal with obesity. The fast food industry is constantly being blamed for this major issue. Even though these big industries are promoting these unhealthy foods, they aren't to blame. All businesses will promote their own products to make money, it's a fact. The side that
has an actual choice to consume these foods are the people purchasing and eating them. They are not forced to purchase these foods and eat large quantities of it, yet, others are still choosing to blame the corporations for having persuasive commercials and not giving more information on the nutritional facts of their products.
The other issue is the animal cruelty in factory farms. Animals in factory farms that are breed for human consumption are being violently abused and mistreated. Again, want is to be known is: who is to blame? The society is to blame again. If meat wasn't the main purchase of Americans, the demand of meat wouldn't be so high. Factory farms wouldn't find it necessary to use the most fastest and effective way to get meat. Some will say that these factory farms are using these methods on their own accord, which is true, but they get the money from the consumers.
