Obesity is an extremely critical issue in the United States. When paralleled to other countries the United States is the utmost over-weight nation. I feel like Americans just choose the easiest and quickest options when it comes to choosing what they are going to eat and fast food restaurants seems to be the most convenient and cheap. Usually that option is the least healthy. There are countless fast food places available to Americans, and the menu options have a “healthy option” but in all reality they are still packed with calories. Eating healthy is also more costly. I also wanted to add that restaurant franchise play a huge role in obesity in America, they have so many calories in their foods and they supersize almost everything which really is not necessary. Today it requires a lot of work to eat healthy. Usually bringing your own food it the best choice when you are out and about and do not have time for a home cooked meal. I think that parents really are to blame for the lack of adolescent nutrition because they allow there children to eat this way and do not teach them how to properly eat healthy. According to the CDC, “Overweight and obesity are the result of “caloric imbalance”—too few calories expended for the amount of calories consumed—and are affected by various genetic, behavioral, and environmental factors.” This means children are eating entirely too much, and are not getting
