St. Scholastica’s College Student Council
The Student Council (SC) is the democratically constituted government of the collegiate student body. It is founded on the principle of student representation and service to society. All bona fide students of SSC are members of the Student Council. All powers of the Student Council emanate from the students. The Student Council shall at all times protect and uphold the democratic rights and welfare of the students. It is dedicated to the promotion of social awareness and involvement among the students of the College Unit.
The Executive Board (EB) of the Student Council is composed of the President, Internal Vice President, External Vice President, Student Organization Chairperson, Secretary General, Finance Officer and Batch Representatives. Consultative assemblies of the EB are the Council of Leaders comprised of all organization presidents, the Council of Representatives comprised of all class representatives, and the Batch Councils comprised of all batch secretaries and treasurers.
Article IV of the Student Council Constitution states the rights, duties, and responsibilities of students:
Section 1: Rights
a. Every student has the right to have access to all information regarding the existence, functions, and compositions of all bodies and instrumentalities within the college, which affect her/his status as a student.
b. Students have the right to form associations consistent with the pertinent school policy governing the establishment of such association.
c. Students have the right to receive professional competence i.e., job efficiency and quality performance from the faculty, administration and the Student Council.
d. Students have the right to contribute articles to the school organ and other publications within the tenets of freedom of expression and of the press.
