Draco 's stars are not very bright. The head of the dragon consists of four stars; Beta, Gamma, Nu and Xi Draconis. The constellation encompasses several faint galaxies, including the Draco Dwarf Galaxy, one of the least luminous galaxies with a diameter of about 3,500 light years. Draco is a circumpolar constellation visible all night from northern latitudes. The constellation winds around the little dipper. The dragon 's body ends between the Big Dipper and the Little Dipper. Draco, the Dragon, used to hold special significance as the location of the pole star, but due to the earth 's precession, the pole has shifted to Polaris in Ursa Minor. The Dragon is usually associated with guardian 's of the temples and treasures. Draco was important as it was the guardian of the star that never moves, the celestial pole. The celestial pole in ancient times was the doorway between the mortal world and the eternity. The Draco Dwarf Galaxy is a spheroidal galaxy in Draco. It has a visual magnitude of 10.9 and is 260,000 light years distant. It belongs to the Local Group and is a satellite galaxy of the Milky Way, one of the faintest ones. The galaxy was discovered by the American astronomer Albert George Wilson in 1954. It contains five carbon stars, four suspected asymptotic giant branch (AGB) stars, a number of red giant branch (RGB) stars, and more than 260 variables, all but five of which are of the RR Lyrae type. A Northern Light is set in 1906 in upstate New York in the area called the North Woods. The Book tells about a young 16 year old girl name Mattie Gokey who is caught up in a murder as well as choosing between her family and her dreams. The author, Jennifer Donnelly, showed just how hard life was at the time and how there was little room for individual wants. Donnelly gives the reader a sense of what life was like at the time. The reader sees how important it was to work together as a family to make a living. There are many different times in the book where Mattie has to help her family. She had to pick berries as an extra source of income and miss school to help her father with the farm. In chapter two, this passage shows how important a family’s farm was and its precedence over things like school, “ I was angry with my father for keeping me home, even for a day, but he was right: He couldn’t run a sixty-acre farm alone.” (Donnelly 22) Donnelly also gives the reader an understanding of how certain technologies that seem so simple today were amazing in 1906. Miss Wilcox’s car is a great example, Mattie is afraid to ride in it because she had never been in a car before because there are few at the time and only wealthy people own them. Overall author Jennifer Donnelly does a good job showing the reader what life was like in the early 1900’s and how different it was from today.…

The Greenwich also provides a means for world time. Starting at the Zero line, and using a 24 hour-scale, devised by how long it takes the earth to travel a full revolution to make a day. Each time zone approximately is seen as 15 degrees wide. This equates to a one-hour difference of solar time. Time zones are not an exact straight line. Many times zone lines are changed to meet up with borders. To find civil time changes by location a person would only need to divide the longitude degrees by 15 to discover the hour difference from Greenwich Meridian. The best way to do this is to see the suns position of where he or she is at when the sun is in position of high noon. If the longitude degrees is west subtract the difference form the world time hours. If the longitude degrees is east then add the hours.…
