Q: Which of the three kinds of learning for behaviorists do you believe to be the most effective? Explain and give examples of each of the three methods and argue why one of the three methods is most effective.

I believe observational learning is the most effective of the three kinds of learning, as it holds the most advantages compared to Operant and Classical Conditioning.
Examples:
Observational Learning:
• An infant learns to make and understand facial expressions.
• A child learns to chew.
• A new employee learns not to come late for work after seeing a Co-worker get fired for doing that.

Operant Conditioning:

• Positive reinforcement- o Having a job and going to work every day to receive a paycheck. o A teacher complimenting

In my opinion observation is very effective. An example of the effectiveness of observational learning. Take for instance a child in their early stages of development. A child will learn to talk and walk and even toilet train by seeing and hearing others. When a child reaches toddler stage they begin to mimic people. This is a good example of observational learning.…

Behaviourism looked at learning in a scientific way, theorist of the time believed that they could teach anything as they could condition an animal to behave in a particular way, whether it was a dog to salivate by the use of food, Pavlov (Learning and Teaching [internet], or pigeons playing table tennis, by breaking the game down into a sequence of actions, Skinner (Edschool.csueastbay [internet]. The person was conditioned to their environment. However behaviourism is very limited, due to the need to repeat the process so many times. This in turn reduces how fulfilled the learner would be especially if the lesson was purely based on behavioural learning. However behaviourism is still important in today’s classroom in the systematic reinforcement of each aspect which helps build up here understanding. Also giving praise, and giving the…

An observational analysis was conducted to observe the effectiveness of warfarin in patients with atrial fibrillation after the patients had ischemic strokes. In the article “Real World Effectiveness of Warfarin Among Ischemic Stroke Patients with Atrial Fibrillation,” 12,552 patients were observed for one year after being admitted to the hospital for acute ischemic stroke and discharged with a diagnosis of persistent or paroxysmal atrial fibrillation. These observations were made between January 2009 and December 2011. The patients were divided into two separate groups for comparison during the study: patients taking warfarin and patients not treated with any anticoagulants. Behaviourism can also be seen as the learning theory. This was introduced by John Watson in the early 1900’s. This was mainly his thoughts and ideas. When it comes to behaviourism there are three assumptions that are attached and are developed within behaviourism. These are; behaviour is learnt and also humans and animals learn the same way, this can be seen that the mind is irrelevant. Behaviourists would conclude…

Learning is an important skill that all organisms must acquire in order to survive or fall prey to Darwinism’s main idea of survival of the fittest. Learning is the long lasting effect of a change in behavior. This would constrict the application of learning conditioning to a few applications. The three most recognizable applications are classical conditioning, operant conditioning, and learning by observation. Each type of learning is different, but uses similar ideas such as an unconditioned stimulus, which is usually food, and an unconditioned response, which food is associated with salivation and hunger. There are several ways that an individual can condition an organism to learn skills through three different applications of learning: classical, operant, and observation.…

The film The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind was a great film with many psychological principles and themes. The film is centered around a couple who have both chosen to receive a procedure that will wipe their memory of each other following their tough breakup. The most prominent principle displayed in the film is retrograde amnesia. Arguably this is what the entire movie was centered around. Another principle, though perhaps less pronounced, would be passionate and companionate love and, of course the difference between them. The third principle, possibly the least apparent of the three, is observational learning, also known as social learning. This principle also involves a fourth, which would be a violation of ethics, however…
