Introduction
From birth to adulthood people go through predictable milestones. However, when they reach these milestones is a matter of debate. Several theorists have researched and developed their theories on these milestones. In this paper the supported evidence of these theories will be presented through real life observation of various age children (Infants, toddlers, school age, and children ten to twelve) behaviors and abilities.
Methods
In the research four age groups were studied, the ages included two infants the ages of four weeks and eighteen months, two toddler the ages of three, two school age children the ages of eight, and two older children the ages of 11 and 12. Some of the theories accredited were,
Piaget's,Erikson's, Dreikurs, and Freud's. There are also several other theories that were either in part shown or hinted to in the child’s behaviors and abilities. Overall the methods were found to be reasonably accurate and/or prevalent in all children. However a special take was taken in this project regarding mentally handicapped children and their ability to reach these milestones, as well as the difference between males and females ability to reach these milestones. The milestones observed in this piece include cognitive, language, and social achievements.
Results
The first child observed was a female infant of four weeks, She was observed at 4:07 at
Hoofbeat Childcare, the observation ended at 4:15 This child displayed many regular patterns.
Some of these patterns included play with infant safe toys, attachment, and crying when in need of a diaper change or hungry. The colorful infant safe toys provided evidence for Piaget's theory of cognitive development in that the toys were played with in a sensorimotor type style. We also
