Occupational and Safety Health Act The occupational safety and health Act operate their own government and also regulates the workplace safety. “This is a federal agency under the United States Department of Labor.” (eHow Contributor). The school, universities issues different inspection in the workplace. The inspection will include Emergency Action Plan, handling and inventory of chemical and blood borne pathogens, fire detection system, accessibility of medical service and first aid (eHow Contributor). The Environment Protection Agency covers the public sector which includes the school (eHow Contributor). In the school setting the nurse is ready to receive employee for first aid. The school board is responsibilities for the safety within the school. The board of the school has to control the place of work to ensure all children are safe in school and harmed by any hazard. The health and safety policy promoted a healthy food and nutrient meal, physical and emotional environment to all students. The board has to make sure that the school is maintaining an update health and safety procedure throughout the school year. This is done through the principal. In the workplace health and safety is carried out their daily work in a safe work environment. In the workplace the company have to recognize that safety is their help the employees, family, customers, and the company
The teacher and other worker make sure that student have the best education. The teacher and other employees should have the right to work in a healthy, clean, and safe environment. The follow area in the classroom, work areas and the building show is health and safe. “Regulations and standards must be set and followed to avoid injuries, health problems or untoward death.” (eHow Contributor). In the United States, the federal, state, and local agencies are guaranteeing the food supply to be safe in the workplace. The governor of the food and the manufactures play important roles in the food safety industry. The governments have to ensure a safety in the food supply and make sure the worker is properly trained in the workplace. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration can help me as a teacher progress because it will point out safety training. Staff training is for all employees. This can help each of the staff to build a climate of sage and at safe. The training can teach us ways to avoid the accident. By showing the correct way to operate materials is part of safety training and can increase skills that the worker can meet the legal requirement. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration demonstrated leadership. When staff is done with training they are required a certification show they have complete the requirement. As a Head Start teacher I had to have CPR training. I had to be trained to deal with children and families during an emergency situation. I have to plan a healthy and safe environment, whether if it indoor or outdoor. Within the classroom there are several assessment, toys that might be broken, and socket need to be covered. The outdoor area has to follow same procedures check outdoor equipment are. Making sure everything is age appropriate. The teacher have to identify things that might be a risk to the children such as special needed, that is safe way and easy accessible to all area in he classroom. Another requirement is evacuation procedure in place to prepare in case of a fire such as fire alarms and extinguisher near a fire exists. By doing this make sure the children’s health and safety are the staff top priorities.
