Occupational Therapist Ethical Dilemmas

In fact in the first situation the student and future occupational therapist already had the knowledge also signed the agreement to take the correct actions in that situation. The student, who recorded the discussion of a colleague’s information knows the context of the private information and even so she took a different position. I understand how hard that situation is but the action is clear to me. The student who recorded the information had an unprofessional attitude.
I have faced an ethical dilemma before and I made a choice based in my values to qualify the first situation with ethical distress type.I faced the distress as my part because I felt uncomfortable with the situation and with the unprofessional attitude from the colleague to complete the action.As afuture occupational therapist, who knows the code of ethics and challenge myself to maintainthe integrity and dignity along the situation and examining the right behaviors and choices,for the correct decision.
The situation involved in the principle 3 the occupational therapy personnel shall respect the right of the individual for self¬determination, privacy, confidentiality, and consent. The situation as well as the fidelity principle 6 shall treat clients, colleagues, and others professionals with respect, fairness, discretion and integrity.
As a future occupational therapist one should maintain the confidentiality of all verbal, written, electronic, augmentative, and nonverbal communications, in compliance with applicable laws, including all aspects of privacy laws and exceptions thereto, are a guard the preserve the code of ethics.
