Odd Girl Out
Once upon a time in my health class we watched a sad movie called Odd Girl Out. It’s about girls getting bullied in school, and at home. It’s a somber and tragic movie that makes you take a step back and think about bullying. It makes you understand what bullying can do to someone and the pain they can get from it. It clearly distinguishes the roles of the bully scene. A major role is the Queen-Bee, and her name is Stacy. She has the ability to drop a girl’s confidence with just one look. She is mean to everyone, because she insecure about herself. Sometimes she has a reason, but usually she doesn’t. She attacks Vanessa because her friends told her that Vanessa stole Tony. Is this a good enough reason? It’s your judgment. The Second main role is the target, Vanessa. She was attacked by Stacy for “stealing” Tony. Stacy and Nikki were evil to her, even though she’s supposed to be their best friend. It’s heart breaking because they made fun of her weight and her hair it hurt her so much that she just gave into peer pressure. She cut her hair and stopped eating. In the end she overcame her fears and stood up for herself. Nikki is the wanna-bee, she is jealous of Vanessa. She is evil to Vanessa because Vanessa is closer to Stacy than she is. She doesn’t have a direct problem with her, but does have one. Her follows is Tiffany, she is the main banker. She just follows Nikki; she doesn’t have an issue with Vanessa. She just wants to be in Stacy’s group; it’s pathetic. Finally the last and the most important role is the savior; Emily. She saves Vanessa because Stacy bullies her too, so she knows what it was like. There was one main way she saved her; by being a friend. That’s all she needed at the time. Vanessa had no friends, and Emily was; she saved her. Personal Experience; I’ve had a few. One of my most recent ones was here in school. I was being bullied in Young Living by these girls. They were saying that
