To escape the cave first Odysseus had got Polyphemus drunk then with the olive tree he had made a pointy end, after that two of his crew members had got up on a rock and poked his eye, so he would go blind, then Polyphemus got up and started yelling and screaming but while he was doing that he had also moved the rock so now Odysseus and his crew members can escape.
The final trait that Odysseus had is carrying. Odysseus care very much for his crew members. The final reason is that Odysseus help his crew thought any problem they had like when they were approaching scylla and charybdis they were afraid but Odysseus was there to help them come over their fear.

Another characteristic that the movie did a good job bringing out of Odysseus' character was his ruthlessness in doing whatever he has to to get where he wanted to go. We find out that Everett never actually had a treasure to go find. He just told Pete and Delmar what they wanted to hear and whatever he needed to to get them to commit to escaping with him. He knew how to manipulate the two in a way that would inspire them to help him (because they think they are helping themselves). This is similar to Odysseus' and Athena's manipulation of Nausicaa.…

Odysseus was a very effective leader. The first example was when Odysseus devised a quick, and cunning plan in the midst of chaos during their imprisonment in Polyphemus’ cave. A leader’s great leadership is the key to success. When Odysseus commanded the men to do as his plan follows, they listened, which resulted in their success in escaping the cave. Odysseus was an effective leader because he was cunning. Another example was when the crew were travelling in the Straits of Scylla and Charybdis. When they were inside the strait, the whole crew were alerted when one of their crew members were eaten by Scylla. In this panicking situation , Odysseus remained calm and told them to row back out, and to remain calm. The crew were sparkled with…

Odysseus' potentials and character nature serve as a worldview of the perfect Homeric Greek man. The "god-like Odysseus" is complicated, courageous, clever, and expressive. His increments are a lot of his understandings through travel, the meeting of various societies and people groups and gains from misery and mistakes. Odysseus' strength is continually tested by the lure of ladies. In the Odyssey, batch cases of such attraction mirror the significance of sexual orientation and the part of ladies.…

These flaws include the fact that he loses his men and the fact that he boasts about himself and commits blasphemy toward Poseidon when he says, "I am sure that even great Poseidon will never give you back the eye you lost" (Odyssey, Book IX, page 185). Nevertheless, this does nothing but adds to the idea of Odysseus being the ideal hero in the ancient Greek society. He is a mortal hero, a human, and humans have flaws. This again goes back to where we talk about the transition in the Greek society. The Greeks now embrace their mortality, they are not afraid of it. Even with his flaws, Odysseus achieves his goals and he is definitely the ideal hero for many generations to follow. The people can look to Odysseus as being a hero that they can relate to; unlike the previous perfect and unrealistic heroes, such as Hercules, that could only be…

Odysseus is an epic hero because of all the challenging obstacles he had to overcome. He is strong and brave by never giving up, but rather determined to fulfill his accomplishments as a young and adventurous man. Odysseus was also very cunning, knowing how to create and form the ideal way to sabotage the Trojans. Such a bold hero and great father that seeks to win the 10 year war with the Trojans and succeeds. Although, weaknesses lye in every man as a human necessity and even this 'Hero' has one.…

To start, Odysseus was developed with standard Greek heroic traits. First, Odysseus was courageous in the face of opposition, as shown by his encounter with Charybdis and Scylla. The protagonist of The Odyssey commanded his crew to row onwards in the face of the monsters, showing his courage. He was also intelligent, as he devised a plan to escape the wrath of Polyphemus. Odysseus made the Cyclops drunk with his liquor before blinding him and allowing his crew to escape on the underside of the sheep of the island. Finally, the main hero of the story was perseverant, as illustrated when he left Ogygia, battled Poseidon’s storms, and made it to King Alcinous’s island.…

Odysseus was a quick witted man at warfare because he was known for his famous wooden horse trick. He came up with the idea of the "Trojan Horse". But what was his plan? It was to get the Greeks to hide in the Trojan horse and have the people of Troy to open the gates so the Greeks would attack. In my opinion this is a very clever and outstanding idea. All of this lead his men to victory. Which proved that he was intelligent.…

This is understandable, through reasoning that Odysseus displays leadership. However, Odysseus is anything a leader, and as a result is not a hero. Odysseus is not a good leader, given that his entire trip relied on help from the gods. The plan for Odysseus to return to Ithaca and save his family from the suitors was completely pioneered by Athena. Without the guidance of Athena specifically, as well as a handful of others, Odysseus would never have been able to return to Ithaca, let alone leave the captivity of Calypso. Therefore, Odysseus is more unheroic than not.…

Odysseus relies on his mind more than he does his strength. He is smart enough to know that he cannot overpower Polyphemus when trapped in his cave so Odysseus uses his stupidity against him. Odysseus outwitted him by calling out "Nobody is my name. My father and mother call me Nobody, as do all the others who are my companions" (), Polyphemus takes the bait thus allowing Odysseus to blind him. Odysseus also uses his craftiness by disguising himself and creating a plan to end up with the suitors locked in a room with him so he can kill them one by one. If Odysseus wasn’t clever he would not have been able to accomplish all that he has.…
