The majorly debatable topic of the issues based on the passage is significantly divided into the Gods and Humans. The assigned two passages are the most representative choral lyrics of Oedipus and its dilemma. The first passage by the Chorus is about Human against divine justice. The speaker of the passage is the Chorus, who can interpret as representation of the human being. It describes the distinctive human behaviors such as keep its own faith to the Gods and hoping to live according to the laws of the Gods. God’s divinity and the laws as well. In other word, this also represents the weakness of human being compare to the Gods. The main point of the passage is that any of human who revere the gods and serve the state should have the favor of the gods, but people who are impious and proud deserve to be punished on the other hand.
The second passage is also spoken by the same narrator, the chorus.
This passage is mainly about mixture of few different emotions such as confidence and pride against fragility of happiness. According to the passage, the chorus narrates about happiness that defines by human. The emotion happiness narrated by the chorus exemplifies the character Oedipus, “Show me the man whose happiness was anything more than hopes followed by disillusion” which is such a fragile and unsterilized emotion of human. Oedipus used to be such a proud man in the world “All Thebes was proud of the majesty of his name” before he figures out the truth of his destiny and oracles has made in the past. This represents the idea of pride versus fragile happiness that human hopes in general. The passage narrates the fact that most of human’s desires of achievements are precariously

The two passages are comparable and related in a way of define human being’s immortelles, imperfection, and fragility in many different ways. The representation of the passages are based on the story of Oedipus Rex, who put his effort to against human desire in order to overcome the designated fate of own life. However, his effort does not beyond the stereo type of human being even though he is consider as a hero and majesty in the text. The passages are analyze the weakness of human desires are, despite the fact that the character’s heroic aspects. The sentiment of human is below that divine justice overall, which count towards as acceptance of fate of its own. This is the interpreted key message of the two passage of Oedipus Rex.
