It gives good clear techniques that can be applied when helping a client to understand God’s word and in the appropriate manner. To be able to do so the counselor need to assess the client relationship to see where he or she stands with God. As the author of this paper, it is very important to do an assessment on the client from the first session to the last session to see how the client progress towards healing in each session. To be able to apply Scripture in the counseling session the counselor has to able to have look within themselves as well with each topic the client has a problem with to make sure their own influences will not get in the way of the clients. From this article, the reader was able to understand how it is important to look at the whole picture in where the client is coming from personal experiences, cultural background, and theology background to be able to see if Scripture can be applied to help the client. Having a complete understanding on where the client is coming from can help the counselor to be able to work with the client by digging down to the core problems that have lead the client to seek counseling. Scripture and prayer can be used to gain insight and seek healing by God’s word and understand his truth and love that he has for his children.
