Steinbeck makes it so George and Lennie, have a huge amount of friendship emitted from their bond that was between them. One way this is shown is when Lennie and George talk about their dream, and Lennie brings up that, “I got you to look after me, and you got me to look after you”, page 14. First, this presents the facts that both George and Lennie have each other to take care of, and that each of them would protect each other in times of danger and harm. In addition, this shows that they have a special bond towards each other, and they enjoy spending time with one another. Steinbeck also illustrates the friendship of George and Lennie when they start talking about their dream (George and Lennie would have their own land, with a house, and many other items on this land). This depicts a strong bond of friendship between the two because it shows that they want to live with each other, plus the fact they want to be with each other even if times become tough.
