Pain, misery, and struggle can all take the disguised appearance of strength and persistence. Salvador Dali’s painting, Geopoliticus Child Watching the Birth of a New Man, makes this evident. The lack of vibrant, explosive colors, as well as the clear portrayal of a man trying to escape the grasp of a restricting egg-like object, does not immediately scream power and human ability. Not all of Dali’s paintings are painted to demonstrate what is going on in the world around him, but this one clearly depicts what was currently happening at that time. Some of his more well known works are based solely on feelings, and have nothing to do with the country's current controversy. Dali may have painted this painting to demonstrate what was going on in the world, but the general concept can be applied to everyday life.

According to Roberta Smith (2005) in her article “ A Bronze Visionary With a Surreal Self, “There are entire genres of popular culture and kitsch that seem almost unimaginable without Dalí, including horror movies, science-fiction book covers and cartoons” (Para. 2). Without his strange and abstract works of art, there would be a void left in the history of art. It took several devoted people willing to see the good in Dali, and present him as a realistic and real artist worthy of criticism. Dali painting, Geopoliticus Child Watching the Birth of a New Man, does not immediately appeal to the viewers for many reasons; however, it is an amazing work of art with a plethora of meanings that can be abstracted. Dali truly inspired those around him, and will continue to do so for generations; both artists and viewers
