Offender Power Assertive Rapist
As I have motivated above I believe that the offender is a power-assertive rapist. And this kind of person is a person who is looking for domination and control. This offender will most likely be self conscious and attack victim who is in the same race and age group as himself. I think the offender will probably be in the same age group as Susan but the offender might be black or hispanic. I do not know Susan´s skin color but she is living in a neighborhood where only 10% are white, and therefore I believe that the chance of the offender being white is small. I believe that the offender is a male, because Susan was raped and in the text the killer is referred to as a he. The power-assertive rapist is as I said self conscious he cares about

Author David Horsey created this illustration with the intention of showing us how ICE is deporting people who are not a threat to our society rather than targeting the people who are truly causing trouble. Horsey is in fact successful with getting his point across that immigrants who have created a life and home for themselves in the land of opportunity are now being deported and dealt with as if they were criminals.…

Fact, sexual assault is a crime of any type of forced or coerced sexual contact or behavior that happens without consent. Fact, many people will not talk about their own experience with sexual assault. This is a problem no matter what sex, gender, race, class, or age a person is, they will have to endure this through life. Many people ask “why is it so hard for victims to speak out?” and there are reason for it. There are great number of societal barriers within society and many relating to fear. In the story “Speak” by Laurie Halse Anderson she explores the concept between the connection of fear and sexual assault. It’s not fair that our justice systems tries to make people think that they try their hardest and follow the law just by pushing for reports to be made on assaults. Why should victims feel the need to make a report if they don’t get enough respect, help or treated with care? Especially if the crime has not been reported as a crime. Not only has the reports been reported as not being a crime, but it sometimes doesn’t get passed to the police to be investigated. Campbell states, No one has correlated the victim’s stories with the record of the accused rapist. She states, “They have previous records of violent offenses and sexual attacks on women”. (Campbell, 2007, pg.18). The police are not going to tell a victim that there is no way your case is going to be reported and there are many more that has not even went on file from years ago. Nor will the police inform a victim even if the suspect has previous records of assault there still is a chance your case is going to be investigated. The victim’s needs to be told the truth instead of lied to, a broken, inconsiderate, broken and a lying Justice system. Catching criminals is what the police are supposed to and don't, ant the main…

    Criminal Psychopath

Psychopathy is an important construct in offender classification. Although several studies have suggested that there are two distinct subtypes of psychopaths, these studies have considerable limitations, including reliance on self-report measures, a failure to adequately address heterogeneity within the construct of psychopathy, and predictor-criterion contamination. A recent taxonomic study identified four subgroups of offenders, including primary and secondary psychopaths. We used cluster analysis to replicate and extend those findings to: 1) an independent sample; and 2) a PCL-R factor model that reduces predictor-criterion contamination. Additionally, we validated initial results using a novel clustering method. Results show that psychopathy subtypes are replicable across methods. Moreover, comparisons on other variables provide external validation of the subtypes consistent with prior theoretical conceptualizations.…

    Courting Disaster

Whenever a crime is committed, someone is labeled the victim and someone else the offender. The offender often destroys or hurts something of value through violence and aggressive actions. The victim on the other hand was the helpless, weak, person taken advantage of because the offender could not be stopped. It seems pretty clear. In the book, Courting Disaster, Jennifer Dunn talks about the crime of intimate stalking and how very often the victim role is not an easy one to fit into. The line is not no so clear anymore, and the victim identity is harder to classify.…

Women whose experiences do not conform to this stereotype or script are regularly seen as less than “real” or true victims. They are sometimes framed as women who have brought it upon themselves because their demeanor, behavior, or dress provoked the assailant (Williams, 1994) or because they were once engaged in an intimate relationship with the assailant. Since rape scripts assign extensive blame to the victim and since most rapes do not conform the “classic” scenario, survivors of acquaintance rape are less apt than victims of stranger rape to label the experience of sexual assault as rape. (Koss, 1992). They are also less likely to report their victimization to the police (Koss, 1992), and more likely to be blamed by others…

    Feminist Theory Of Crime

The feminist criminological theory aims to understand minorities in race, gender socioeconomic status and many more and their intersection with one another and their relation to crime. In relation to interpersonal violence and gender, females are greatly underrepresented in studies- particularly regarding those who commit offences. As mentioned above this places a pressure on the legal system that does not know how to properly respond to these women. Feminist theories aim to bridge the gap between males and females in the criminal justice system and provide gender appropriate crime responses for all. Furthermore, breakthroughs discovered in feminist criminology regarding female crime and victimisation may assist in explaining male crime to some extent. Since feminist theory looks at all female crime and victimisation- including crimes involving males- reasons as to why males become victims of female assault and why they assault females are…

Every year women across the world seek counsel from Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) due to unwanted sexual advances, hostile work environment, lack of management training, neglecting to respond to employee complaints, and sex discrimination. In certain corporations such as prisons and farm houses women are seen as prey to men. Female workers have decided to not endure the harassment, unwanted advances, to be ignored by management, and not be judged or taken advantage of because of their sex. I was motivated by the two articles to bring awareness of sexual harassment by men that are in management positions and take advantage of their roles in the workplace.…
