My job as an office assistant at the Assessment Language Center consisted of interviews students about their English language ability in term of speaking, listening, writing, and also to see if they speak any second languages at home. I also prepared and organized all the testing materials to make sure students have all the testing materials ready when they come in to take a test. When parents have questions about the test and the nature of the test, I will promptly explain why the test is needed and assured them that the English test will not put their child in disadvantage classes or classified them as an English learner.
