Officer Fitts Monologue
Officer Fitts said about the Tuesday (22nd) fight, “So, I’m covering up, telling her to stop hitting me. So, I do grab her to try to restrain her from hitting me. I said, ‘Just let me go.’ She says I’m not gonna go. So she’s steadily hitting me; I’m steadily grabbing her hands trying to have her stop hitting me. You’ll see the hand prints from me holding her; the defense marks from me trying to hold her, (to) stop hitting me. So, I try to leave; she grabs my leg; she’s holding onto my leg. I’m like, ‘Shanna, let me go.’ She’s (saying), ‘No, you’re not gonna leave; you’re gonna sit here and you’re gonna talk to me.’”

Officer Fitts said his wife antagonized him Thursday (the 24th) about the bruising to her arms by saying, “Look what

Everett Gray couldn’t tell you the last time he could properly breathe. Even during hockey competitions, there had always been an issue where he couldn’t quite get the amount of air that he really needed to keep going. Sweat would run down his cold skin, as he pulled at the collar of his uniform. His chest would heave, yet all the air seemed to get stuck in his throat, turning into a suffocating lump. He felt his phone vibrating in his pocket, but he refused to make a move to look at the messages being sent.…

When you first met Nico you were about fourteen years old and had just arrived to Camp Half Blood. You were heading towards your cabin when you heard a group of campers laughing at two figures that were huddled in the middle of the circle that the bullies had formed. You noticed one boy shielding the other as the campers threw sticks at them, cackling as they taunted them for being gay. You lowered your eyes, thinking about how the bullies back home made you do humiliating things in front of people because of your test scores. Clenching your fists, you took a deep breath tried not to get too upset.…

A few minutes later, Jason walks over and stands in front of me at the Labrae table. He can see that I am bothered. His exterior has softened – a little. He asks why I was crying and I told him it was because of the way he talked to me and that I would not be able to get my doughnuts out on time. But there was more to it than that: I was worried that he would unfairly use this incident as an opportunity to support his claim that I could not “cut it” as a baker.…

Band has always been an important part of my life, but the teacher who really made it my passion is Mr. Honken. Honken is, to me, a combination of Mangold’s seriousness and Connell’s negligence. Honken has been the most memorable band director yet through his agitation, relaxation, and inspiration. The fact that his original instrument was low brass doesn’t hurt, either. First impressions usually determine the future, but I really don’t remember the first day of band camp, sophomore year, when Honken showed up.…
