Oh Carmilla Alternate Ending
They all looked at me and shrugged continued eating. Then all of a sudden a woman appeared and she most definitely wasn’t human I would’ve smelled her before she entered the room. I scooted closer to Laura defensively as they talked. “Try the gingerbread it’s my specialty” She was already happily eating away at the cookies and I couldn’t believe it “So when creepy old dinner lady says it’s good you eat them but when I say it it’s all ‘oh Carmilla you don’t understand.’” I knew this lady wasn’t right and she kept asking us what else we could want to eat. The gingerbread has been iced to look like a murder scene and normally I could appreciate such fine taste in art but this was creepy. Laura was smiling ear to ear indulged in the story and I …show more content…
Sitting next to her she whipped blood off my lip and giggled to herself. “Look I know I’m not good with the feelings thing but… I’m sorry everything’s messed up and that you’re not with your dad.” Blushing she looked at me “Thanks, and as far as Christmas company goes you’re not so bad yourself… for a vampire.” I smiled and she kissed my cheek handing me a gingerbread cookie. “Merry Christmas Carm.” I bit the head off the gingerbread and put an arm around her “Merry Christmas to you to cupcake.” The ginger twins were still eating everything in sight but watching us like hawks. How I wished I didn’t have to save all of her friends. Honestly we never celebrated holidays much in the Karnstein family mother never really liked them and I never was able to really participate but this was kind of nice. We sipped hot chocolate and ate cookies until we were all sick of sweets. “Ok I will admit, this was nice for being my first holiday.” Laura looked at me confused “Your first holiday? You mean you never celebrated any of them?” I shook my head and she was wide eyed. “I wish we could’ve been at my dad’s then you could’ve had a better first Christmas!” I laughed and kissed her forehead “I enjoyed this and besides it was just me and you that’s what makes it special. On the plus side I also got to kill two people.” She laughed and nodded “Well when you put it that way it was good.” Her arms were around my waist and we snuggled up close the worst of the snow storm starting to

I will never forget the Christmas when I was 14 years old. The whole day was so wonderful and exciting. We had to wake up and unwrap presents early because my father was working that day so everyone woke up at 5:00 AM. After all the presents were given out, everyone said was saying goodbye to my father and went back to sleep. At 9:00 AM, we had to wake up to clean the house because we have “Christmas Brunch” every other year where my whole family comes to have a meal. My mom has a total of 5 brothers and sisters. And they all came with their families, which included their kids and some of their kids even have children. So, at my house, there was a rough total of about fifty family members for the brunch. The food that we ate on this day was unbelievably and utterly amazing. Most of the types of food that we devoured were Polish and German cultural foods, which are the two major nationalities in my family. There was fried Polish sausage with sautéed onions. They were a perfect combination of saltiness to sweetness. Then there were some sweet and creamy pecan rolls that my grandmother used to make all the time, but unfortunately I could not have one since I am allergic to nuts. Then to top all of those foods, there were all different sorts of pierogi. There were the family favorite potato pierogi, the sweet cheese pierogi, and then there were the blueberry pierogi which are my favorite. Those foods were the three items that we mostly ate at the brunch. All the adults would be either drinking coffee, soda, or some alcoholic beverages and for me my favorite thing to drink: Polish carbonated water.…

Lunch flew by in a blink of an eye. The entire time, Trey and I chatted and laughed so boisterously that the librarian hushed us countless times, which made us roar with laughter even more. But for some spectacular reason, the librarian didn’t kick us out. Trey and I were vastly caught up in our conversation that we had forgotten to eat lunch. It didn’t matter, though, because our chat satisfied our hunger.…

Instead of proactively seeking out the host, I reasoned that her disliking me greatly outweighed the pros of getting what I wanted. I didn’t want to impose my needs onto this lady, whose very gregarious personality is what started these very dinner parties in the first place. Now, I don’t even like to speak, but let me tell you, at that point, I couldn’t speak. And despite my thirsty desires, wishing would definitely not make the host read my mind and save me from the daunting task of asking her where the drinks were. Instead, my dizzying sense of direction led me on a treasure hunt, tentatively opening a few cabinets, distracting myself by bonding with a couple felines in the corner.…

    Christmas vs Thanksgiving

Christmas is one of the most incredible times of the year; snow on the ground, a warm fire in the living room, and twinkly lights around every turn. When I was young, I loved Christmas. Toys and treats had me in a daze for almost a week straight. I was a typical kid, and my focus during any holiday was, “What do I get? Who brought me presents?”. I never realized the true meaning of why we have holidays, other than presents, until I was seventeen years old. As I’ve started to see my family less and my co-workers more, I understand that the true meaning of holidays in general, is to spend time with our loved ones. Taking my new found wisdom into account, my opinion of the “best holiday of the year” has changed from Christmas to Thanksgiving. My views, including favorite holiday, have changed because my focus on what’s important has matured.…
