Scott Amedure was shot and killed with a shotgun on March 09, 1995 by Jonathan Schmitz. The incident happened three days after Amedure revealed his homosexual feelings towards Schmitz on a national TV show. This revelation caused much emotional damage and embarrassment among Schmitz. Amedure also left a sexual note for Schmitz which in turn resulted in his premeditated murder on Amedure. Schmitz was ultimately found guilty of second-degree murder and possession of a firearm-felony. Amedure’s parents sued the TV Show, stating the shows actions and negligence resulted in their son’s death. The jury’s verdict compensates the parents $29,332,686 in damages of a wrongful death. The defendants take the case to the…
On December 26, 1996, JonBenet Ramsey was murdered in her home in Boulder, Colorado. JonBenet Patricia Ramsey was a child beauty queen who lived with her two parents and her brother, Burke. She was born in 1990, which would make JonBenet six years old at the time of her death. Her killer still remains at large, more than twenty-three years later. There have been suspects and arrests, but ultimately no one has been charged with the murder of JonBenet. The riveting question remains, who killed JonBenet Ramsey?…
The death of JonBenet Ramsey has been a mystery for so long. It is so weird that this little girl was found dead in the basement of their home and no one heard or saw a thing. Records say that JonBenet had a fractured skull, been molested and had been strangled with a chord. According to biography.com, the only evidence found was a ransom letter requesting $118,000 in which was written on some paper belonging to the Ramseys and the duct tape which had fibers from her mother’s clothing. When her body was found, the father should have not moved her. I do not understand why he would take her from the basement back upstairs after finding her; it just did not make any sense (biography.com).…

William Kemmler was a vegetable peddler in the slums of Buffalo, New York. An alcoholic, on March 29, 1888, he was recovering from a drinking binge the night before when he became enraged with his girlfriend, Tillie Ziegler. He accused her of stealing from him and preparing to run away with a friend of his. When the argument reached a peak, Kemmler calmly went to the barn, grabbed a hatchet, and returned to the house. He struck Tillie repeatedly, killing her. He then went to a neighbour’s house and announced he had just murdered his girlfriend. Kemmler's resulting murder trial proceeded quickly. He was convicted of first-degree murder on May 10. Three days later he was sentenced to…
Phyllis Dorothy James or more commonly referred to as P.D James was born in Oxford in 1920. James attended Cambridge High School for Girls. Her first published work titled Cover Her Face which she began writing in the mid 50s introduced the public to her most iconic character; investigator Adam Dagliesh. Dagliesh is a well-known character who is a reoccurring presence in a series of detective novels one of which I have had the pleasure of indulging in/reading, namely The Death of an expert witness.…

When the Left wants to distract America from the central point of a burning issue, they find (or manufacture) a "gotcha" moment and yell "RACISM!" So it is no surprise that embattled Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy, whose struggle against the federal government's overreach has won widespread sympathy, has ended up as another victim of "race card" politics.…
On January 13th 1999, a girl named Hae Min Lee was killed and buried in Leakin Park. Her ex-boyfriend, Adnan Syed, was convicted of this murder case and there are still holes and facts that don’t add up to help the situation. This case was so interesting that a podcast was made to research and try to find an answer. The woman, Sarah, made this podcast and worked on years of research but was unable to come to a final saying on whether or not Adnan was truly innocent or guilty. In my opinion, I feel there is not enough evidence to tell if he is innocent or guilty because of Jay’s story, the call records, and the Nisha call.…

Killing another human being is something that most people would find very hard to do. Do a person's feelings towards violent actions change in the course of a war? In the poem, "The Man He Killed," By Thomas Hardy; he illustrates a story of a man who questions his own actions of doing harm to another person. Throughout the poem, Hardy uses tone and word choice to get his point across in the poem.…

This is the frame where Bugliosi and Posner, etc indicate that the first shot was fired. Now, the first shot is the easiest in terms of distance and the fact that the shooter has time to aim. Their are several problems associated with this claim. First, at Frame 160, the Presidential limousine is just about underneath the 6th floor window. Anyone shooting from the sniper's nest would have had to lean out the window, with his rifle (By the way, Mr. Posner. You write this carpola book called, “Case Closed” and you have a graphic on Oswald's assumptive weapon. But, you don't call it a rifle – you call it a gun. I wonder where your editor was to try to save you from your ignorance. If any GI referred to his rifle as…
