Oklahoma Thunder Argumentative Essay
On a night when the Oklahoma Thunder desperately needed an offensive boost from injured forward Keven Durant, the Boston Celtics went into Oklahoma and took care of business with a solid 100-85 victory. Guard Marcus Smart led the Celtics in scoring with 26 points on 9 of 14 shooting, including 3 of 5 from 3-point range. He also added 8 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 steal while only turning the ball over once.

The Celtics also benefited by another strong outing from guard Isaiah Thomas who added 20 points and 8 assists. The Thunder were led in scoring by All-Star point guard Russell Westbrook who had 27 points on only 5-20 from the field. The only other player in double-figures for the Thunder was Serge Ibaka with 16 points to go along with a team

It was by far his best game since missing a couple of games due to an early season injury. If he can get to a point where he is performing a bit more consistent at a higher level, the Celtics could prove to be a handful, especially in a division where several teams have been struggling.

His back-court mate Isaiah Thomas is currently leading the team in both scoring and assists at 20.8 and 6.3, respectively. Thomas came over to the Celtic last year in a mid-season trade with the Phoenix Suns. Since his arrival, he has assumed the role as team leader and shown remarkable consistency, which has certainly exceeded any expectations the Celtics had when they gave up Marcus Thornton and a 2016 first-round pick to get him.

With the combination of Smart and Thomas in the back-court, the Celtics look to have enhanced the future of a young basketball team. This is only Smart's second season in the league. He was drafted out of Oklahoma State in the first round with the sixth pick by these same Celtics. In his final season with the Cowboys, he was named Big-12 Player of the Year while also being chosen as a Consensus second-team All-American for 2013. In his first season with the Celtics, he average 7.8 PPG over 27 minutes a game. This season, he has elevated his game, averaging 12.5 PPG in just under 31 minutes per

Steph curry (and it’s is going to be very hard to argue) is the best shooter the league has ever seen. The last three years he has been the hardest player to guard on and off the ball. The main reason is that he not only is an elite catch and shoot player from anywhere on the floor , he can get his shot off on the dribble with his quick handles and release. The numbers he’s posted is off the charts not only just at the three point line but from beyond the line (i’m talking 28+ ft) he has a better percentage than players shooting 22ft. The man is such a great shooter the legend ray allen make hi statement and says, “ Based on what he’s done, I think he has to be—he’s on his way to being the best ever. It’s always arguable, based on who’s telling the story. One thing I always tell people is, it’s hard to compare generations. Everybody has something or somebody that makes him feel special about the game, or the way they saw and the way they appreciate the game. I’ve sat back and watched a lot,…

I had followed the story closely over the next couple of days and as SportsCenter and ESPN analysts talked about the situation in Boston, it was like an emotional roller coaster. One hour people are saying how the season for fans is all done, and that we should throw in the towel and keep our expectations low for the end of the season. While other analysts were saying that the Celtics have a deep enough roster that they can compensate for the loss of their star player with players that can fill the void. Only after watching a special report that had aired late at night, did the larger picture arise.…

I am inspired by the sound of a dribbling basketball, by the sound of squeaking shoes, and by the sound of a basketball swishing through a hoop. I can still remember the time when The Celtics almost beat the Lakers in the NBA Championships. I was ten years old, in Tennessee, watching the All-Star game with my relatives. We all sat on the couch, eating and watching the game. I remember the time KG did a slam dunk on Kobe Bryant; the crowd went wild. My relatives were rooting for the Lakers while I was the only one rooting for The Celtics. My feelings for the Legendary Celtics are clear but some believe “When legends die, dreams end. When dreams die, there is no greatness.” I strongly disagree with this statement because of my strong feelings for The Celtics, because of what George Washington did for our country, and because of the wisdom my grandfather gave me.…
