Okonkwo's Violence In Things Fall Apart

There has been many times in “Things Fall Apart” where Okonkwo has been violent. His violence has shifted the book in many ways. Okonkwo’s countless acts of violence have helped to develop the plot and theme of “Things Fall Apart.”

One thing that has been changed from Okonkwo’s violence is the plot. In chapter four Okonkwo brutally beats his wife for leaving to have her hair braided before she made dinner. This act of violence gave the book a more serious plot and showed Okonkwo’s power.
