Ola Cabs Case Study
OlaCabs is an online cab aggregator based out of Mumbai and among the fastest growing taxi hiring firms in India. Taxi booking facility can be availed through app, website or through calls. Olacabs provides different types of cab service ranging from economic to luxury travel. The cabs can be reserved through a web browser or a mobile app. This cab service supports both cash and cashless payment options with Ola money. It claims to clock an average of more than 150,000 bookings per day and commands 60 percent of the market share in India.
Revenue Generation Model:
Ola cabs current revenue model is by getting a commission (or rather rental) of INR 100 from each ola driver if the driver makes more than INR 2000 a day. Each driver has to work

Having started off by offering only sedans, Ola recently introduced Minis and Luxury cars to broaden its portfolio. Ola Mini is 20-30% cheaper than fares charged on sedans and competes with UberX directly.

Ola also started luxury segment for customers who are expecting something more than a regular economy sedan. Customers who would like to travel in "better" comfort and style but do not have access to hire a premium car for point-to-point use. Our intent was to make it accessible to such customers. The business model of aggregation remains the same in the luxury category as well. This segment was started by Ola in September 2013 in Bangalore followed by Mumbai in January 2014.
Innovations:
Within a year of its launch, Olacabs has grown to become India's largest car rental brand. Its success lies in the myriad tech solutions it uses to navigate the chaos of India's urban commuter system: Its mobile app lets a user summon a cab with a single click and allows real-time tracking of the cab as it nears. Meanwhile, Olacabs' predictive algorithm helps anticipate demand at different locations and times, monitors traffic and weather conditions, and, after a customer books, accurately predicts the time of
