ABSTRACT
The aim of this study is to investigate the perception of drug abuse among Nigerian university students. The research was conducted in three universities in Lagos metropolitan – University of Lagos; Lagos State University and Caleb University. The study’s objectives are to determine university students’ knowledge about drug abuse; identification of most commonly used drugs on campuses; peer pressure, a powerful influence in introducing undergraduate students to drugs; psycho-social effects of drug abuse on undergraduates and whether drug abuse is preventable.
